Default New to s2000 ownership

Hello, S2ki,

My name is Ronnie, I have been a lurker here for quite some time and have been on honda-tech since 2002 not new to honda's or working on s2000's worked at honda for 2 years and the rest of my time has been spent at nissan/infiniti as a lead tech for almost 10 years now. I have just driven home my new to me 2003 black s2000 i'm extremly excited to finally have a roadster that is fun, i'm not going to lie i got a crackhead deal on it the top has a hole in it on the right side, the passenger regulator has taken a dump, owner before the last one has had bondo on the left rear 1/4 panel and it has cracked, so it does need some TLC, it has some miles on it since it was doing DD duty up and down I-95 but its exactly what i wanted something that needed work. I'll have some pictures as work comes i'm taking it to the shop tomorrow to finish looking it over and start the process. Just wanted to introduce myself here and hopefully become an active member in the NOVA/DC area

sorry for the long sentence still quite excited to finally get my roadster

everyone loves it actually which is actually suprising most of the guys at nissan are older muscle car guys on to some pictures the car was not stock, list includes

d2 lowering springs (removing in place of coilovers)
arc magic cooling plate that previous owner boogered up from heating it to make it "cool"
invidia dual exhaust (way too loud taking off car)
volk gt-s 18's (going away becuase they are very ugly)
aem cold air intake (not a fan of the intake at all want to replace it)
clear headlight diffusers
mugen 3 piece spoiler (keeping that)
very loud sound system i have already taken out

when i picked it up before driving it home

at the shop before taking the stickers off

where it sits every night before i leave work till the car is done and driveable agian

another bumper and lip are on the way, ordered pads and rotors, got some canvas for patching the softtop, window motor ordered, gotta deciede on a new exhaust and take the invida off and sell it and then clean up the wheels and trade them off along with a few other things can't wait for this thing to be on the road like i said yeah it needs work but i got the car for an absolute steal havn't seen another go for as cheap as i paid

and the best news is zero structural damage on anything, never has been bottomed out or scraped on the rails, no leaks no nothing in amazing shape engine runs great the only issue is the tct when cold, and the trans shifts like butter no major problems at all and clean title! i'm in love with this thing

well so far what i have done to the car

Oil change w/ honda oil and filter
new TCT
bg syncroshift trans fluid w/ mgs concentrate
bg ultraguard rear end fluid w/ LSII concentrate additive
New oem spark plug cover
redid the headlights
ap2 front bumper w/ plate blockoff
ap2 optional front lip
cr radio cover
carbon wrapped the trim in between the hazard and roof switch
oem pads
brembo blank rotors
work emotion cr kai in blue
cleaned the hell out of the engine bay
removed all the stereo and wires
window motor installed
oem black chrome rear emblem
valve adjustment and check the keepers and retainers
installed new a/c compressor
cleaned IAC valve
taken dash apart and cleaned behind it

over the next few days my last tire and wheel spacers will be here and i can actually get the car rolling again, my tint guy is coming out and tinting the windshield and two sides and rear window and in about 2 weeks i flat bed the car to the body shop to have it fully resprayed and every dent and ding taken out of the car

the only things i havn't really done yet is

coilovers
header
exhaust (in place of the dual invidia)
oem headunit (can't find one for a good price)
put speakers back in the doors

it looks like i'm over half done with what i want for this summer and the car will be ready for me to make the trip to IA

heres a few photo's i've snapped along the way

trunk all stripped out from the horrible system

pile of wiring that ran from the front to the back and front and back again

motor cleaned up ish

center console don't mind my shift knob that has come with me from the last 3 cars i've had

and a small photo of what was done outside all in all i'm pretty happy thus far

Very cool!! Love the red interior on black. Definitely keep that Mugen 3 peice wing. That's a highly desirable spoiler
Glad to see you're fixing her up
