Hello everyone.

New owner of a 2000 S2000 (silverstone). Good and bad news about my AP1.

Good news: I love my ride!

Bad news: I threw a rod this past weekend and now need a new engine

My question is: can I swap out my f20 with a newer f22 motor? Does it use same mounting points and has anyone done this swap?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can swap it out for a 2004-05 F22 motor. The 06+ has an electronic throttle so a swap for one wouldn't work (unless you did a ton of conversion work). Personally, I say go with an F20 and put some AP2 valve retainers in it to make it more reliable while keeping the 9k RPM that us AP2 guys are jealous of (even though we won't admit it).

Did you overrev?

Thanks Swift GT! Yup...overrev'd

Reason for my question is that I'm having a hard time finding a f20
motor but found 2005 3x f22 motors.
