New Member with a LBP S2k
Hello! I finally got enough time out of my hectic schedule to register as a member! Im in Dallas, TX and always debated on getting an s2k until recently I came across a deal that I could not pass up!
I recently picked up a wrecked s2k and I plan on bringing her back to life. She's an 08 with roughly ~70k on the odometer.
I've already ordered majority of the parts and have already started working on her! If any of you would like to follow the progress, I am tracking the build on instagram and my handle is @s2k_as (same as my username here).
I am in the market for some coilovers and wheels. Im looking at YellowSpeed coilovers and Tein, anyone have any recommendations? I plan on lowering about 1.5-2in
As far as wheels are concerned, about 5-6 years ago I saw an s2k that just blew my mind and the wheels were just jaw dropping to me. After doing research, I have found them to be the Volk Te37SL. Does anyone have any size recommendation on them? I'd like to keep the staggered look and I know some people have had issues with those wheels (not 100%)?? Im thinking 18 X ?? + ??
Any advice on coilovers and the Te37SL would be greatly appreciated! Ill continue lurking around hoping to find the answers that I may not get here. Again if you'd like to see pictures of the vehicle and the build progress be sure to check out my IG account @s2k_as !! Thanks for checking this post out and I look forward to getting to know you all!
P.S.I'm glad to finally be an s2k owner! Cheers!

Congrats on the new(to you) car! I wish i could have an 08' largley just for the tunable ECU and i love the gauge cluster.
As far as some advice. Ive never heard of Yellowspeed. Part of me is urging caution as it sounds like an ebay brand and i generally dont trust the things holding my car up to ebay. I highly recommend a set of good quality coils as no only will your ride quality increase, but you know youre getting quality. There are plenty of good quality coils out there for around the 1000$ price range. If you dont want to pay that much than just lowering springs might be good for you however i dont like lowering springs personally.
Some good coils are ST, Greddy x KW, Bilsteins.
As far as the wheels go, This one might be more difficult. I assume you saw the TE's on another S and loved the concave look and how agressive it is. I love it too which is why i got mine. However the spec that he had most likely was the Evasive Motorsports spec. This spec is very agressive and offers the concave look that we all desire. I have the same spec wheels. The issue here is that they have been discontinued until further notice so you will have to buy them used. TE37's are actually pretty flat face for our cars due to the requirement of our incredibly high offset. The spec that i'm running is 17x9.5 +41 but it required me to roll and trim my fenders to allow them to fit properly. If you want a set to fit you will either have to run with a +55 offset or higher. @Kami Speed sells TE37's on here that fit on our cars however you wont really get the same concave look.
Heres a pic of my S2k lowered about 1.5" on Greddy x KW coilovers and with my TE37s.

Hey! Would like to chime in. Between those two coilover brands I would definitely lean towards Tein, since they have been around for many years in comparison. They offer the Flex Z kit which is fully adjustable and around $800 /set. So that is an option which I can get for you
As for the wheels, the TE37SL does not come in the most friendly size options for the S2k. The only way to get the concave face is to run either 18x9.5 +22 or 18x10.0 +40. In either case, fender mods, stretched tires and a lot of negative camber are in your future.
Have you looked into the new TE37SAGA from Volk Racing? They are the newer version TE37 and use engraving on the spokes, instead of the stickers like the TE37SL variant. They come in a bit more sizing options, though they will still require fender mods but not as drastic as the TE37SL. I see you want to go stagger with your new setup, so you can order 18x8.5 +42 (Face 2) Front and 18x9.5 +45 (Face 3) Rear. That will get you the staggered look.
Here is what the 18x9.5 +45 TE37SAGA looks like. They are not as concave as the TE37SL, but still look good! Let me know if you need help with anything else and I can get you setup.
