Hey s2ki! name is steven. im in the process of parting out my 03 accord and am looking to pick up an 04-05 ap2. im looking foward to the new car but the old one will be dearly missed. im somewhat of a n00b to the f-series motors, but do know my k-series motors like the back of my hand. hoping to lurk around for a bit, learn about these cars and make sure i know 100% what i am getting ito by purchasing an s2000.

pics of my current POS. im sure some of you miami locals have seen it around.

car made 291whp/272wtq at 9psi on a crappy tune and small turbo.

Greetings! We have a very strong and very active Miami crew. Where do you live in Metro Dade-Broward? Come meet everyone in the Florida forum.

BTW...one quick caution when you buy your s2k, if you park outside (no garage) at all at night, you need to get some seat locks. There is a gang operating in Miami/Orlando/Tampa who are notorious for stealing s2k seats to sell. They get about $500 a set and we have heard from dealers in the area that they see 3-4 cars a week needing new seats. Serveral of our members have been hit twice since they didn't get seat locks the first time.

PM Kodokan_4 to get a set.

i live in the miami lakes area actually . when do you guys have your meets? i would love to come by, meet a few owners and ask some questions. i know these k-series motors so well so it kinda sucks that im going to have to start all over again with the f-series motors but im looking forward to the challenge. i know a few s2k owners as im very active on most of the florida car forums so im sure itll be some familiar faces at your meets

yea, ive heard the same thing. ive been active in the community for a few years and i cant even count how many civics ive seen with s2k seats, which ovbiously makes me skeptical.

i will be garaging the car at night but since i work in downtown miami, my primary concern would be someone breaking into the car there. i was going to invest in a hardtop immediately after getting the car, but now that theres some people in here ill ask this question : does the hardtop really help deter and prevent theft?

ill def PM him about those locks. it'll give me some piece of mind.

thanks for the warm welcome guys!

alrdy been doing that man. thats the first thing i do whenever i venture on to a new forum. i used to moderate an accord forum and the one thing that used to agtitate me was people who didnt read the important stickies.

They move the day and location around a bit since Metro Dade + Broward is a large region.

Here is the SoFla forum...watch for meet notices:

A hardtop can help...but seat locks are the only sure thing that'll make sure the seats will stay with the car. Now they may take the entire car! But the seats will stay.

Invest in a pager-alarm or LoJack if you aren't in a parking garage with security down town.

seems like a worthwhile investment then. im about halfway through parting out the accord and with what i make from everything, i plan to take 3kish out for the hardtop and possibly the seatlocks. the rest will go as cash down on top of the accord, which i will be trading in once i get it back to stock and running 100% normal

ideally hoping trade the accord in for no less than 10k and put 3k down on top of that and just finance the difference. trying to stay at around 20k out the door for an 04 with no more than 40k miles. its a tough criteria to meet but ive seen a few every so often that meets that criteria sell. just gotta be patient.

woo-hoo!

i found my car guys!

got an 04 silverstone s2000 with 30k miles for 18k plus tax and am getting 10.5k for my accord with the turbo kit. i figured id just leave it on since finding stock parts and a buyer was going to be near impossible and the KBB value for the car is 9600.

im picking up the car on sunday! cant wait!
