New Boosted AP1 Owner Here!
So, I've always wanted an S2000 since I was very young. Ever since it was brought into the US market, I've been lusting for one. There's a lady down the street with one that I'd snap my neck to watch drive up and down the street ever since I was 8 or 9 years old. So, 14 years later and I finally own one! I'm a huge F1 fan so I love everything the car represents and what Honda wanted to express with the car. I'm actually in college studying journalism so, these types of cars are my passion. I intern at a local tuning/race shop that builds Honda motors, 2JZ motors, RB26's, etc.. so I'll always know where to get help locally!
Now, about the car.. Luckily, it was bought from a forum member who obviously cared VERY much about the car. Its a 2002 in silver (not exactly sure if its Sebring or Silverstone). Its also got a red interior which I find to be quite appealing. Its been babied and cared for its entire life with just over 32,000 miles on the odometer! The condition is IMMACULATE. I mean this thing is almost brand new. Aside from some wear on the seats, and a few tiny imperfections, its spotless.
It is supercharged running 10 lbs of boost. The mods are as follows.
-Comptech Supercharger + After Cooler + Upgraded Heat Exchanger + 1000cc Injectors
-DC Sports 4-1 header + Comptech Cat-Back Exhaust (sounds wonderful with some drone)
-AEM v2 ECU
-Upgraded Clutch (I believe its stage 2, its rather difficult to drive smoothly, although I'm getting the hang of the bite points.)
-Various handling improvements such as J's Racing ball joints & MX-5 rear sway bar
-Other than that, the stereo is upgraded with a custom box in the trunk for a subwoofer.
The previous owner said it made 340 WHP on 10 lbs of boost, so I'll go with that. I've only taken it to the redline a few times and they weren't lying when they said this car is COMPLETELY different after 5,500 RPM's. I don't plan to beat on the car very much. Mostly roll ons, I'm a bit nervous to launch the car or dump the clutch on the stock rear end because I've heard that tends to be a weakpoint in these cars.
Anyways, I absolutely LOVE this car, and its utterly perfect as it is. I don't see the mod bug biting anytime soon! The only thing I see myself buying in the future is a lot of car care products and 93 octane gasoline. I'm really excited to finally be a part of the S2k community and finally own one of the most legendary roadsters. I absolutely LOVE this car!
