Default In the market for an s2000

hi guys. im in the market for an s2000. im looking to spend under 20k. my question is, is there any difference in terms of speed/performance during the ap1/ap2 changes. also is there any years i should stay away from? any bugs or defects i should know bout. also is the ap2 worth paying more for than the ap1? thanks

Drive both the AP1 and the AP2, this is the only way you will know which one you want. They drive differently from each other and have different power characteristics. There isn't really any years to stay away from, all years were built very well. 00' and 01' had plastic back windows, that is something I would try and stay way from though.

Welcome aboard and good luck with you search!

Particularly if you park outside, the plastic can cloud up (over time) or become brittle and crack when cold. IMO go with an '03 if you want an AP1.

Read the FAQ's and existing threads.

...and, as always, test drive.

AP2s are a little more comfortable as DD, AP1s are a little more raw. But you should be able to find very good examples of each within your price threshold. Agree w/takeshi, search and read and test drive are your next steps. Good luck.
