Keep in mind that it is a GT86 forum, some of the comments maybe bias. But it does give you a feel on why those people choose the frs/brz/Gt86 instead of the s2000.

I'm just quite sensitive to older cars going wrong and like to comfort of a warranty. All boils down to bad experience I has with a B18'd EM1 coupe. Long story short: I spent a fortune getting the engine rebuilt thinking that would be the end of my problems. I was wrong."
That is true, you do not want to get a lemon. Just be careful, a lot of ap1's are plagued with new paint and accidents. Always get a Carfax report. Here is a link from s2ki on what to look for when purchasing your new s2000.
