Hey everybody. I have had my '05 AP2 S2000 for about two years now and it is my daily driver. It used to be my brother's car, he bought it used in '07 with 5000 miles on it from a doctor in Kentucky who never drove it. It now has 96,000 miles on the odometer (50,000 have been put on it by me) and has not had a serious mechanical problem yet. Aside from the minor squeaks here and there and the annoying clicking sound that I believe has been diagnosed as axle nuts that need to be re-torqued, it performs exactly as it did 90,000 miles ago. Needless to say, my love and appreciation for this unique and bad-ass machine only grows every time I press the ENGINE START button. I am joining the forum to hopefully glean some useful maintenance and mechanical information about my car as well as meet other owners who are passionate about enjoying, maintaining, and keeping these cars running for as long as roads exist. The car came to me bone stock and I intend to keep it that way. I look forward to hearing from everybody, and if anyone can tell me more about the axle nut "clicking" or "two metal bearings" sound coming from the rear end when I start from zero in 1st or reverse gear (and sometimes when I shift into 2nd), I will praise you thoroughly.

I like the way you put that. As for the axle nut issue, there are tons of threads about it in the Under The Hood (UTH) section. Just plug in keywords like axle nut torque into a search. Basically, the procedure goes like this: unstake, remove, regrease (just the face of the nut that contacts the hub, not the threads), retorque to 220 and restake. Hope that helps and welcome aboard!

Hi all , i've been looking through pages upon pages, threads upon fibers. I own a 91' Honda accord hoping to lower my insurance rates within the next year or so and find a new job so i can purchase an S of my own. I've been in love with this car since honda released it.

Been lurking in the forums since this past Saturday when I purchesed a 2007 Laguna Blue. Have been eyeing up these cars since I first saw one. Coming from an Audi A4 Quattro Manual Sport with a K04 updrage boosting 23 psi. Honestly, this car feels just as fast in stock form (big weight difference). Splitting driving time between the S2000 and a 2001 Acura CL Type S.

In the Baltimore area looking to meet some fellow S owners.
