Default Gone now but not forever

Hello All,

It was a crazy year for me. At one point, I owned 3 convertibles at the same time! A 2014 MX5 club, a 2004 S2000, and a 2001 S2000. I was stretched thin and employed alternative financing. In the end I paid off my debts and got to keep my knees. No harm no foul!

I bought the s2000s within a week of each other. I have since sold the 04 to good friend of mine and now it's time to depart with 01 which is why I'm here. I'm young but I'm not own 3 convertibles young...or rich. As mentioned, this is a gone now but not forever so I will certainly own an s2000 for the long haul when I don't have to risk my knees to do it.

Looking forward to perusing!

after many years of lingering, finally pulled the trigger on an AP2 last summer. Here is my 07 Silverstone / Red-Black interior. She only has 13K on the odometer

Hey everyone. Just joined the forum, long time Honda fan (23 cars and counting), the last of which was a1992 NSX which I sold about 6 months ago. I daily a 2007 Si which I just picked up from LA area a few months ago and although initially looking at another NSX decided I didn't want to deal with the upcoming headache of owning a low production run, old, supercar and decided to start looking at S2000s.

I'm a big fan of forums over FB/IG as information here is here forever (ideally) where as using social media means the information is there and gone instantly, and watching the same questions get asked over and over in those spaces, without being able to point them to answers is frustrating.

As a big Honda head I've got a lot of general knowledge about the S2K but looking forward to spending some time here and gaining some real knowledge.

Default New Honda S2000 Owner From Tokyo Japan

Hi everyone, just purchased my first S2000, though I have driven several. I have owned several Honda's over the years but my current toy is a 1957 MGA. This is replacing 2 back-to-back Boxters, both of which were great and totally trouble free but it's time for new adventures. I live in Japan and I can assure you that nice S2000s command top dollar (Yen?) here as well. A bonus it the strong dollar so that eases the pain a bit. My car is a 1999 2-owner with 26,000 miles. It's about as nice as a 25 year old car can be except for the drivers seat bolster. Easy fix. It has ADVAN forged wheels for now but going back stock soon

Hope to gather and pass along useful advice to all!

Default 2001 s2000

Hi,
I sort of inherited a moth ball project but we may become the owners someday, not soon. I have always been a fan of the s2k and got to drive this one on a few occasions. Loads of fun but it yearns for the track.
We are in SW Washington. I have some questions but will post separately. I just got the service manual so I’m ready to dive in. I look forward to learning more about it and offering my experience in other general service/repairs to members where I can.

Hi I am Robert .
I have been a Honda fan since the late 1970es .
Here is a quick rundown of the Hondas I owned and other interesting info along the way.

1: Honda Accord LX hatchback
I optioned it without a radio so I could get a better aftermarket radio with auto cassette seek function wow .
Purchased new in 1981 .
I had to to pay $8000 for it .
Just like the S2000 in 1999 it had an additional dealer profit, and it was $500 for a totoal of $8500
Why? Look at a 1981 Chevy Chevette and ask yourself how much more you would pay. LOL
To increase its straight-line performance by 50 % , I purchased a Kaminari Air dam
20-year-olds will believe any nonsense. LOL
I have provided a link if your so inclined.

Kaminari Aerodynamics

2: 1987 Honda Prelude si
A fantastic and the fuel injection was great.
Not happy that the US got a 12v version and Europe got DOHC
The only mod was Ebach Springs and Tokio shocks.
In hindsight they would have worked better if I got the camber fixed.
Michelin MXV and later MXV-4 tires the grip was great.
Through a rod while slamming gears while autoscoring at Fentress airfield but paid about $2500 and got a Honda certified engine replacement and it was fine.
You have been warned!! LOL

!999 Honda Prelude SH purchased new.
I loved the car but a bit of a disappointment because the gearing was a bit to tall for a VTEC car but its grip in corners great and it was the only fwd. car that can do a power oversteer.
With an atts car, you can't change the differential to a higher revving gear and that's a shame.
Yes, to my surprise, the S2000 came out two months after I got the Prelude , but the inflation adjusted price with markup was over $70,000 compared to about $45k for the Prelude still a pretty hefty sum and I did not have that kind of money but new someday I would have one.

2004 ap2 s2000
Purchased for $22k in 2009 with 53k miles
Did not even haggle the price because I was sure there was many like me that love this car .
As I drove by it I saw it was white with a tan interior ,
I had to turn around because I loved that combo and had never seen one where I live .
