My car is almost finished, 2003 that was damaged. Went a different route than most. My vision was to create a modern version of the Sunbeam cars (Rootes from the UK).
They were known as Sunbeam Alpines and Tigers. My build is here.

Smile New S2K Owner

Hey Community!

Happy to introduce myself as a proud new S2K owner! Currently the car is having a cosmetic makeover, still in working progress and cannot complete or collect due to COVID!

Cannot wait to get it back and into the glorious sunshine!

Love to hear about any nice mods such as which is the best clutch to soften the standard hard one please? Also is changing the brake callipers worth it?

Best,

Ray

Default New member in search of a s2000

As my subject heading states, I'm a brand new member to the forum, but i have yet to purchase a s2000. I purchased a NSX last year (dream car growing up) and i just have an urge to drive a s2000 after all the stories I've heard about it's handling. Regardless, I'll be perusing the classifieds and the tech threads to learn more about this car.

Picked her up this Friday.
only 44K on her.
All 10 VIN stickers are there, the bottom of the trunk is dry as a rock, and I only got one small tear on the top. (I'm going to replace it; that's gonna cost me some coin....)
Its so mint I feel bad driving her.
Already ordered what I need for a proper oil change and to refresh the shifter.
Mine was driven so little it's knotchy.
Looking forward to learning from all of you.
What should I be looking for as far as maintenance?

Sweet looking S2000 you have there and at a good decent mileage. Are they starting to be pretty expensive in the US or are people still paying average prices compared to the UK?

Thanks Stealth! I thought I thought I got a good deal for mine based on what the market here is asking for them with comparable mileage.
As is typical, the lower the mileage, the higher the price. Super low mileage examples (anywhere below 40k) are in the low to mid 20's (at least that's what the market is asking for them), I would say that's relatively expensive.
I'd like to think they are actually appreciating in price, if you can find a well sorted example with good history of ownership, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Looks like both markets are the same then. Over here too people are asking for silly money, there are below 20k miles going for £20k. There is a White 'Limited Edition' no.2 going for £22k, CRAZY to say it is only white with anthracite wheels and red leather. Nothing special and great to see how people grab you by the curly's!!

Hello - finally pulled the trigger. Now I need to dive in and learn. Picking up an AP2 and need to run through to determine what's needed (if anything!). Appreciate any pointers to the critical/typical list of checkpoints. After that, and some driving time, I can consider how to make it personal to me if needed.

Excited...
