I'm Rick, aka dcjunker in Washington, DC. Recently bought a 2001 model S2000, 54K miles, silver with red leather interior, 16" AP2 wheels, nice condition, beautiful to behold. I'd be grateful for referrals to a decent mechanic for a once-over, and a convertible top replacement shop. And, of course, local owners with whom to connect. Thanks.

Hello All!
Well todays the day. Going to look at a couple of what seem to be decent s2ks.
I've been drooling for a while but still dont have a good feeling for peoples asking prices.
I'm looking at a 2005 w/ about 25,000 miles, claims to be well kept. asking $23,900
Also a 2007 w/ 49000 miles, asking $22,900
I realize I need to do a good inspection.
Assuming these are as good as they say, are these prices reasonable given the current market?
Since Kelly seems to put them at less than $20,000, are they asking way too much, or is that just what these cars are commanding these days.
I'm willing to pay a fair price for a good car, but who wants to get taken with an emotional purchase.
Thanks for any help.
Steve

Hello all,
I am starting my search for my S2k. I've been talking about it for the last 5 years. The wife has given her full support. I test drove a 2004 with 143k miles this weekend. Engine was strong but body showed a lot of wear and tear. It has full service records and is for sell at the dealership that sold it originally in late 2003. The dealer is putting on a new top as well. I think I am going to pass and try to find one with less "dings" and other cosmetic imperfections. I'll probably put a low "offer" on the table and see what happens.
I have two more that I will be looking at this weekend. Both cars are private sellers. Wish me luck.
I have owned Mustangs in the past and love the idea of clubs with physical meet ups (used to live in Atlanta). Hopefully there are some active S2k drivers in the Washington DC area.

Hey all,
Very long time reader first time poster.
Was a former AP1 owner kept it bone stock. After I sold it, I was left with an empty feeling.. went a whole summer without my S. Picked up an AP2 about a year ago. Got it stock but quickly added Greddy Spectrum Elite cat-back. This year I'm looking into coilovers and some new wheels. So much great info here already, doubt I'll need to start many threads. Hopefully can contribute some info to others.
All the best,
Andy
