How's the RE050 on light snow?
Hello, everyone.
I might be picking up an 07 silverstone tomorrow, and I was wondering if the car is drivable in light snow.
I live in Michigan, and the dealer I'm getting the S is at Chicago
The forecast says we might get some flurries tomorrow, and I'm a little worried about it.
I know it's a stupid question, but how bad are the REs in snow? (to those who have experience, if any...)
Thanks.
Dan

I have no experience with them in particular, but I wouldn't recommend driving this car in the snow at all. Some take the chance with snow tires, but I keep mine in the garage when it snows. Think about it...

i personally do not drive mine in winter, but after I bought my s2000 last year, it snowed a couple times and since i hadn't gotten a beater yet I had to drive it. I was able to get around without any problems, just dont get in a rush and take things slow. Also make sure you leave a larger distance in between you and the car in front of you since it will take longer to stop if there is snow in the picture. You should be fine though. Just be easy on the gas while starting up and give yourself a lot of extra room to stop. Hope everything works out for you man.

I wouldnt want to drive it with the snow, but like I said before if you have to, be very careful. I wouldnt let a little bit of snow stop you. Now if it were a snow storm, I would let it chill at the dealership a few more days until it cleared up. Good luck man.

Driven quite a lot on the RE050 in light snow, even in higher snow where I came to a no go Take it easy, no sudden big moves on steer, gas or brakes, no VTEC, easyyyyyyyyyyyy in the corners. Then it's no problem imo especially with the VSA

I drive through winter, but I *STRONGLY* recommend winter tires. Don't screw around.
By the way, I don't know about the RE050s, but I can tell you that S02s and S03s turn into bricks below about 40 degrees. So, even if there's nothing on the ground, you'll still have way less traction.
