How good is the s2000 Engine and box
Hi guys newbie here,
I am looking at a S2000 with 83000 mls on the clock,
So the question is as title and will this engine be a little tired now ?
What sort of power do the s2000 give out in standard form?

What model year is the car?? This will determine which engine is in the vehicle. Regardless of that the f20 and f22 motors are very reliable and long lasting. There are members on here putting down big WHP on motors with well over 100,xxx miles on them. Typical WHP on a stock motor is around 197-202. As far as it being "tired" have a compression test or leak down test performed. This will tell you exactly what you are looking for.

I recommend compression and leak-down test to anyone buying an S that's a few years old. This will give you some confidence that it hasn't been overrev-damaged (though not conclusively).
There really isn't any weak point to watch for. If it's an MY03 or newer, you don't have to worry about spark plugs, etc; that was all done before it left the factory.
