Default Honda S2000 lease deal is back for '06

Honda has a very good 36mo. lease deal on S2000's again.

$3693.00 due at signing (easily negotiable)
$299.00/mo + tax
36mo. 12k mi/year

Option to purchase @$19,722.00 at the end of 36mo. lease.

If you can negotiate a lower due at signing, this lease is a very good deal (even if you decide to puchase the car at the end of 36mo.)

Disclaimer: Not everyone will qualify for the deal, since you need at least a "good" credit rating.

Just wanted to share.

-Sean

There's still room in that deal.

Let me know if you're in the San Francisco bay area and is interested, as I can cut a better deal.

Guys,
Does anyone know the Money Factor in the Lease deal for the 06?

I'm torn between getting a private loan or dealer Loan (if same APR or better). Or take a lease and then buyout if i still love it in 36 months...

Any ideas on the current Lease Money Factors and % depreciation in the deal?

Thanks!

Otherwise I'd be talking to you.
Got any tips for me?

The money factor is based on tiers.

710-899: 0.00059
660-709: 0.00099
610-659: 0.00137

Add 0.00010 if you want the dealer to waive security deposit. Applies to every tier.

FEATURED SPECIAL LEASE: Closed-end lease for 2006 S2000 Manual Transmission (Model AP2146ENW) for $299.00 per month for 36 months with a $2,499.00 Capitalized Cost Reduction available to customers who qualify for the AHFC Super Preferred credit tier. Other rates/tiers are available under this offer. $3,693.00 total due at lease signing (includes first month's payment, security deposit, acquisition fee and capitalized cost reduction; total net capitalized cost and base monthly payment does not include tax, license, title, registration, documentation fees, options, insurance and the like). Not all buyers may qualify.

Subject to limited availability. Through 7/5/2006, to approved lessees by American Honda Finance Corporation. Closed end lease for 2006 S2000 Manual Transmission vehicles (Model AP2146ENW). For well qualified lessees. Not all lessees will qualify. Higher lease rates apply for lessees with lower credit ratings. MSRP $34,600.00 (includes destination) less the suggested dealer contribution resulting in actual net capitalized cost $29,444.49. Dealer contribution may vary and could affect actual lease payment. Taxes, license, title fees, options and insurance are extra. Total monthly payments $10,764.00. Option to purchase at lease end $19,722.00. Lessee responsible for maintenance, excessive wear/tear and 15/mi. over 12,000 miles/year for vehicles with MSRP less than $30,000, but for vehicles with MSRP of $30,000 or more, mileage cost is 20/mi. over 12,000 miles/year. See dealer for complete details.
According to my calculation, the selling price is about 31500, which is 300 over invoice. There are no dealer cash on S2000 as of right now.

A local dealer in Atlanta(Ed Voyles) is showing the same deal(299/mth for 36mths) but with only $2499 due at signing(in Fridays AJC paper). That is about $33/mth less and is quite a good deal. I asked them about a 0 down version of the lease and they quoted me $418mth + tax. Don't know where they got the figure as it should be about $368/mth + tax. I am going to keep looking.

Out of curiosity- what would the cost be for the extra .00010 of interest(money factor). It works out to .2% more. I wonder how much that costs you in comparison to paying the $299 SD and then getting it back at the end of the lease?

How do you figure 31500? They list the actual lease cap cost(after SUGGESTED dealer contribution- whatever that amount is) as $29,444. Adding the $2499 customer cap reduction makes $31,943. so that should be the actual selling price right?

34600 - 3693 + 299 + 300 = 31506.

I think I am forgetting something, but can't put my fingers on it.

.00010 extra in MF will result in about $6 to $10 in monthly payments, depending on your credit qualification and tax situation.

Take myself for example. I live in MD, therefore I have to pay tax on the FULL purchase price for the car. I only put down $900 to cover first month's and security deposit and I rolled $1775 in tax and fees into the lease. My payment is $426/mo. If I don't want to put in $450 in SD, my payments would be $434/mo. BTW, this is on Super Preferred MF as advertised.

Now, if you elect to pay the tax up front, or you only pay useage tax, the difference would be smaller.
