Holy Sh!t, I just won the Mega Millions!
Not really, but that's how I felt when I came home after agreeing with a seller to buy his 2000 model year New Formula Red S2000.
A short story:
I've been in love with the S2000 for about two years after test driving a Rio Yellow AP2 at Carmax. After that moment I always planned on getting that exact car and began trolling this forum (one of the top car forums on the web). I loved the AP2 and disliked the AP1 a lot. As time went my taste in color changed from yellow to white to red to blue to sebring silver back to yellow then white. Then I test drove an AP1 and realized that I enjoy the S2000 so much, why not get an AP1 first then later get an AP2? Besides, an AP1 is less expensive now and the same will be true later for the AP2. So, just like that, I fell in love with the AP1. My color preferences, in order, were: white/red, white/tan, sebring silver/red, sebring silver/black, then red and I wanted an 02-03 model.
Well, after lots of searching and missing out on two great deals (1. 2002 white/red with about 30K miles, 2. 2003 white/tan with about 16K miles) I found the next best thing. A 2000 model year new formula red with only 8,703 miles! My jaw dropped when I saw this and just had to have it. This vehicle had a few other interested parties and I had to act fast. I was ready to take it sight unseen but was able to get a test drive in before someone else snatched it up. I paid for it on Saturday and picked it up yesterday (been rainy over the weekend). I'll clean it up this weekend and shot some photos to include here.
Needless to say, I'm on cloud nine. This vehicle has been well taken care of and I plan on continuing the tradition. The previous owner was very nice (when I picked it up he gave me $20 to put towards an oil change!) and I'm honored to be the second owner of S2000 #102.
Pictures will follow shortly.

Teaser shot.
I finally had a chance to wash the car today and take a few pictures. I'm not very good at taking photos nor am I very good at detailing cars but I tried. So, without further adieu, here are a couple of shots of S2K 102!
The artsy shot.
I knew I wouldn't be bothered here.
I put almost 100 miles on it!
The daily driver! Yeah right.

swap for a ap2? No thanks I'll keep my ap1 and swap for another. AP2 is soft and a dime a dozen, they lose there value quicker than a ap1 too. Just like the lower red line and crappy cdv. AP1 is RAW. Congrats on your purchase u have one of the best s2k's on this board.
