Greetings all
I just registered. I bought an 02 Sebring silver with red interior over the weekend. I drove it for two days thinking to myself boy is this car stiff!. Then I saw the spring spacers on the springs. Apparently the PO had driven it that way since buying it new in Rhode Island! I'm having the security system added today, valve adjustment etc. Looking forward to how the car really does handle.
Love the car. Previous toy was an 00 Boxster. Now I see why the S2K consistently out performed it.

Welcome and congrats on the new S. Good catch with the spring spacers. That could have been trouble.
You will find everything you ever wanted to know about S2K's on this site and then some. If you are going to stick around, might want to consider becoming a member.

An 02 with spacers????? Holy crap, batman!!! That is unbelievable.
Make no mistake about it, the car is stiff. But, god, that's just laughable.
In any case, congrats. Let us know what you think with the spacers out.
Given that the original owner didn't know much about the car, I strongly recommend complete fluid replacements. Also, it's possible this person ignored the spark plug recall in late 2002. Make sure it's all good.
