Great Debate: 04 Used or 06 New in 4 Months?
I can save 8k on the car by buying an 04 or wait four months and buy an 06. I like the idea of being able to mod the car sooner without feeling bad about screwing with my warranty (and that the 04 has all performance parts NOW). I am wondering if the NEW CAR feeling is worth the wait / extra money. Any thoughts? Anyone bought theirs new and wouldn't have changed that or bought theirs used and really regretted it?
Thanks!
Adam

i went for a new 05 versus a used 04 cuz:
- having trouble finding a quality 04 with proven maintenance for a good price
- never bought a new car and decided to splurge (financially stupid). i know i'm never buying a new car again, so figured i'd do it while i was young.
- wanted the full warranty
- plan to keep the car until it blows up in 20 years
it cost a whole bunch more for basically the same car, but i was ok with that.
i opted not to get the 06 cuz i didn't like the new 06 features, nor did i want to pay an extra $3k for them. laguna blue was very tempting, though.

The carfax report was good and the people seem to be legit. I can obtain financing which would put me at about $352.00 pmts instead of the $520 pmts the 2006 would demand. I figure I should go at least take a look at it.
Thank you for replys, anyone else with thoughts?
Thanks,
Adam

I went new because I wanted LBP and VSC ... and couldn't find a low-mileage 04-05 in the area in my second-choice color (Silverstone). If I hadn't been seduced by LBP, I'd be perfectly happy now with a lightly used 04 or 05.

Pros: Nice updates for 2006!
Cons: None so far
Had a beautiful 2005 Berlina Black Honda S2000 which I thought was the ultimate sports car in it's price range. That was until I viewed the newly designed 2006 Rio Yellow Pearl S2000. The 2006 has a better stereo system. The newly designed bucket seats compliment the entire car and are much more comfortable than the 2005 model year. Once again Honda made an excellent choice in utilizing Bridgestone Potenza RE050 tires and updated 17inch aluminum alloy wheels... another nice touch.
The overall look, ride, and performance of the 2006 S2000 is indeed an exhilarating improvement over the 2005 model year. Regretfully, I no longer own the Berlina Black 2005 (I sold it) yet I am delighted to be sporting around town in my new Rio Yellow 2006 Honda S2000!!!

I am hopeful that my S2K experience will be helpful in your heavily weighted decision...
Either way, I am sure you will be delighted

Pros: Everything About The Car
Cons: None So Far
Just thoughts regarding new car buyers remorse or potential modifications...
Just passed the break in period for my new 2006 Rio Yellow Pearl Honda S2000 and decided it was time to open her up a bit. What a delightful experience! Engaging VTEC was polite yet undeniably powerful. The transition from commute to all out Race Track Roar was nothing less than spectacular. Please be assured with 2006 VTEC technology no compromise has been made between Low and Hi end performance.
By the way... do take note that my driving exuberance has all been accomplished well below 7000 RPM. I just can't wait to take this car to her true potential!!
Stability... Power... Agility... it is all there!!!
Final Thoughts ...
Thus far I have no buyers remorse upgrading from the 2005 to the unprecedented 2006 model year
The car is a sensation...
Please Note:
In my humble opinion...
No performance Modifications Are Necessary
For great daily commutes and all out HP adrenalin pumping fun.
