Finally...
Hey guys,
Finally got one. I've been lurking on here for years, just reading and following along. I've wanted a s2000, since they came out. A friend of mine had a '01 Red with red interior. He let me drive it a few miles and I was hooked. I could never afford one. Lots of school and hard work, I'm finally in a place where I can have one of my own. I've had a whole lot of patience, read through the buyer's tips many times. I bet I've looked at 20 different ones to buy over the past 3 years, only cared to actually test drive about 3. It was quite hard to find one that was in a condition that didn't scare me, at the right price.
I really started to narrow it down to the '08s, ideally a GPW with Tan interior, as low mileage as possible.
I picked up a '08 Laguna Blue Pearl, black interior, with 6,600 miles... You read that right. It's flawless, like it is bran new. I had never seen LBP in person before I found this one... I love it. All the patience and hunting paid off. Happy to have a reason to finally make my first post and start contributing.
My previous roadster was a 2000 Mazda Miata (NB). We didn't really get along, it was basically something to hold me over till I found the s2000 I wanted. I picked it up off Craig's List "stanced" with wide XXRs, rolled fenders, stretched tires, and negative camber. I thought it looked good, made it handle poorly. Form over function, plenty of pros and cons there. It had a set of raceland headers, harddog roll bar, cold air intake, and tons of other bolt-ons. I enjoyed driving it, but was never really into the Miata experience. We never got along mechanically, I put a lot of work and maintenance into it.
Here's the old and the new.
