Dream to finally become a reality

I find it interesting that when I first came on here and was planning to buy used, the majority advised me to buy new. Now I want to buy new and some advise me to get used. =P
I want a brand new S and I want peace of mind. I plan on sticking with this car for as long as possible. I estimated the monthly payments to be under $600 and I can afford that.
Oh and would you recommend I sell my Prelude privately or as a dealer trade-in which was estimated to be around $3,000.
Thanks for all the replies, I can't wait till I get one.

Try to sell your car to a Private party. Craigslist.com and autotrader.com are your friends. Dealers will most likely offer you the black book/wholesale price. KBB/Edmunds trade-in values are BS. No dealer goes by that. They will talk about it only when they are trying to sell a used car. Your best bet to estimate the trade-in value is to use www.intelliprice.com. This has been my experience with both my RSX Type S and RX-8.

:doing his job:
Hey, BTW, as much as I've loved the Prelude over the years (I owned three different generations), the S is a completely different concept. If you're like me, you'll never look back!

So I got quoted $280 us/month for full coverage insurance on a 2007 s2k. Will be 23 in march, been driving since 18 years of age with no tickets or accidents, clean record.
Does that seem too high ? Can anyone recommend a good insurance company for Southern California region. Thanks
