Default Dealer Incentives for S2000

I want to buy an S2000, but I'm not sure whether I want to buy now or at the end of the model year.

Has Honda offered incentives to the dealers in the past? If so, how much was offered? When did the incentives start?

not necessary incentives, but end of model year tends to get price a little lower as well as winter times, and summer ends.

The threshold of higher demand is upon us. This is the time of year (particularly in northern climates) people start thinking convertables and boats...it's not really the best time to get "the best price". I don't know if Honda has a factory to dealer incentive on right now, but when I purchased in March of '05, there was $750 dealer holdback. Not too much longer and you may have to wait until fall to increase your chances of getting a better price.

I have a price of $32,800 OTD. Should I take it? Will I do better by waiting until the end of the model year?

I would wait for sure... You can definitely get a better price than that. Wait til Fall (as hard as it may be) if you have to.

you could wait for a better price... but the you'd have to wait!

i just paid around that much. looked in Dec, negotiated in Jan, took it home feb 1st, so i don't think the timing makes a difference.

If you love the car, try to negotiate another $500 off or so and buy it. Unless you can wait until the fall to buy an MY07 (when the MY08 gets introduced), you probably won't do a lot better out the door.

On the other hand, S sales are definitely down pretty sharply this year and last, as a matter of fact (you could use that as ammunition at the dealer)...

Honda has had intermittent, good lease deals on the S over time, but you can't predict that.

As always...the longer you wait the better price you'll get...

However you have to ask yourself what it's worth to you. If you want to enjoy it all summer, it's probably worth a bit more to get it now. just my two coppers...

Honda is having a huge sales event where I live, I don't know about pricing but financing is low - .9% apr.
