Default Considering an s2000 as a second car

Hi everyone, I found a 2004 AP2 with about 83,000 miles. The owner wants $13,800 for it. Is this a good deal? I'm also having a hard time deciding if I should pick it up because I was quoted around $1,500 for full coverage from State Farm for 6 months. I am 21 years old by the way. I already have a daily driven car, but my insurance still quoted me around $1,000 for 6 months if it was registered as a weekend car. Am I paying too much for Insurance? This is the only deal breaker for me.

You did not state whether or not your driving record is clean and your location. I am about your age, but I am paying 360 a year for full coverage I pay about 1200 a year for full coverage for my IS350 (it was around 3k when I was in high school). Are they giving you a multiple car discount and good student discount if you are a student?

I'm buying s2k insurance right now... I'm 21 and even have a seatbelt and a speeding ticket on record, no accidents though. I actually took out a progressive policy for $840 for 6 months, though it was pretty limited coverage. A couple days later my dad looked up a quote with usaa, which I can use since he was in the army. Only $584 for 6 months for much better coverage, 50k/100k. So I actually called progressive and cancelled and they refunded me the whole thing! Try for USAA if at all possible I don't know exactly how it works to qualify. But progressive is still much cheaper than what you were quoted.
