Can't believe I can afford an S!
Hello from Cincinnati. I believe this is my first thread on s2ki.... Cheers to that!
I'm Nate, I am a 21 year old who resides in Cinci. I finished my Sophomore year at Ohio University as a Sports Management major less than a month ago. Due to troubling times, I will most likely be going to the University of Cincinnati to cut down on school costs. This means I will be able to work full-time or near full-time for a good amount of time. I owned a 1999 Bonneville SSEi for a couple of years and I had a hard time letting it go. For the past year I have been driving my parents cars. It is time I save some money and look into buying a car, eh, about a year from now.
Ok, this is where the s2000 comes into play. My buddy's mom actually bought a Sterling Silver s2000 a couple years back and I immediately fell in love with the car. It fits me like no other car I've driven in. I'm looking at 2000-2001's with roughly 65k on the clock. Shockingly, the value of an s with this mileage is $10,000! In one year or so, I have hopes of landing one for $9,500. I have to say, Silverstone is my preferred color. So with this said, how many of you paid around $10-11k for your s? Just curious to see how many of you have taken advantage of the low market value of the car... (Probably should have gone into new members or introductions or whatever... Sorry!)

LOL, Well i bought mine new. Bit i kick myself all the time for not geting a AP1 used with good millage like u said around $10k or a little more and u can have a nice S2000 and if i did that i would have saved a ton of money. But i love my CR and plan on keeping her for a long time. Good luck with the search keep saving

It's just a thousand or two more but you really do get a better car.

OP - good luck and don't shy away from the early AP1s if the price is right and the car is in good condition.

Cincy has a very active owners group, check out the Ohio forums and search out Looter and s2k_cincy. Also, be sure to check out insurance costs. Finally, like any other car, you need to consider both price and condition. Although a honda, the S is highly tuned. I personally would rather spend a few $ more for one that has been well-cared for vs finding one for under $10k but that has been rode hard and put away wet. I'm sure you will be able to strike a balance, good luck in the search.
