Default Buying my first S2000

Long story short, I got my settlement check from the insurance company and it turned out to be a bit more than what I expected.

I want to spend no more than 20 thousand,

What should I be aiming for as far as mileage, year, ap1 or ap2?

Is 20 thousand feasible for the S2000 or should I be aiming for another car. (audi tt)

Yes, you can get one for $20K, AP1 and maybe over 40K miles.
Look on the For-Sale section...

You'll probably get an ap1 with 50k+ milage. For $20k you could probably get a lower-mileage 2004-2005ish touring 350z MAYBE. I donno much about Zs and also, I think an Audi TT will cost ya more.

You can get a 50k-/+ mileage 00-03 AP1 S2K for anywhere between 16k-22k.

You can get an 04-07 AP2 with the same amount of mileage for 22k-30k.

For AP1's I'd stick with the 02-03MYs. Glass rear, better tuned ECU, still pretty raw, (if you're into that).

will this be a daily driver or a weekend car. If I had 20k to spend (and it wasnt a daily driver) I'd look around in the for-sale section for a supercharged S2k. For daily driver then I think it will depend. I spent 21k on my. It had 45k miles, but was @ a dealership and is certified (100k mi warranty).

A 350Z would be another option. They are different cars. Probably a bit more practical. I looked at them before I bought my S. But my S is my daily driver and I like getting ~27mpg vs the ~19-22mpg my friend gets in his Z.

This is going to be a DD and the Z is out of the question for me, I test drove one and it's not for me.

Should I spring for the AP2 or stick to a AP1 03

If you can find a good ap2 with good mileage for $20-25k go for it. I donno if you want to spend an extra $5k though.
