Default ?benefits of year?

Hey Guys,

Im new to the forum, and I've heard great things about it. I am in the market to get a new 06 s2k, but was wondering if it there are any differences in the 04/05 to the 06. I currently work at KM Infiniti which owns Pacific Honda in SD. I can get the 06 s2k for about $300 under invoice, but there is a used 04 s2k with 15k miles going for $28k (i get it for $23.5k). Thats about a 7k difference and I get the 100k certified warranty. I just wanted some opinions on what you guys would do? Is there really any difference between the 04 and the 06 that would make me get the new car instead? Thanks for all your help.

the msrp on a 06 honda s2k is $34,050, invoice is $30,560 (give or take a couple of bucks). By the way are they making any significant changes for 07? I visit the Honda store alot, cuz we trade used cars alot, and the best I've seen them do on a 06 was $200 over invoice, but i've heard them going $200 below invoice , depending on how slow they are selling, they want to get rid of a car fast.

Read this for changes between 2004 and 2006 models --> https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=340163

If you are going to mod the car that 100K certified warranty is worthless

Also not many mods from previous models work with the 2006 models including I/E and racing seats.

Thanks Derrs2k, that was very helpful, but the modifications dont void the warranty. They have to prove that watever modifications on the car caused the actual problem. We work on supercharged, TT g35's all the time, and I know the service people at Honda which is a + . I was hoping I could turbocharge the 06, but from reading tat link, I guess I would have to wait till they come out with one.

That is true that they have to prove the mod was at fault to void the warranty and knowing the dealership helps out a lot. Honda's factory warranty is pretty solid but the extended warranties are usually through Honda Care. There have been many posts on this forum of people being screwed over with a Honda Care warranty because of mods completely unrelated. Not worth the trouble of fighting it in my opinion. If I recall correctly there may be actual wording in the Honda Care warranty stating if the car is altered the warranty is void. Just something to look out for.

Thx for the heads up, but hopefully I can get a exception. Do you know if the Carbon Fiber Hardtop, hood, trunks, amuse front, can fit on the 06. I really hate the back of the s2k on the 06. I know that invidia and hks have a 06 exhaust out now, and changing the intake wont do anything except make a noise. Im trying to see if my dealership can trade for a s2k, but they are hard to come by. I guess people who buy s2k's really love there car.

Wow, thats a great deal. Im guessing it depends on where you live, and if they are overbooked, not selling the car. When we have a car that is overstocked, or doesnt sell too quickly, we actually go lower also, but its hard to come by. So yeah....
