Default Awsome lease deal?

So, i keep hearing all this talk on the forum about how honda is giving some kind of a wicked deal if you lease a new s2k and the payments are like $300 a month so what i am wondering is, is this sweet deal avaliable in canada to because if i is, i would consider leasing a new s2k instead of speading the same amount monthly on a 2000 used one.

Check the Honda Canada web site. It should have the offers like the US site does. Or ask a dealer....

It is a terrific lease deal, the lease factor is .00059, the interest rate works out to slightly more than 1.4%. You can lease the car for 36 months, then purchase it at the end on a 48 month loan and after seven years of financing, pay less total interest than if you had purchased the car now on a five year note at normal rates.
Moreover, you don't have to do the $4,300 or so up-front costs to get the great rate. You do need a good credit rating to get the rate.

This is not a Great lease deal to me. With people getting S2000 @ invoice (or $500 below invoice), you can get the same lease for $340 ish or lower with nothing down.
The national lease deal is not "bad" considering the S2000 is a 34,600 car. There are not many other cars available in that price range for 299/mth. That being said there is room in the offer. It is up to the buyer to squeeze as hard as possible. I don't know about 340ish or lower- I got $363/mth with only the first payment due at signing on 5/31. Another person here just got a $330/mth deal(including tax) with nothing due at signing, but he is a friend of someone at the dealer so got a sweetheart deal. I would think with the sluggish sales and 2007's on the horizon they will start getting more aggressive as the lease deal draws to an end.

The great part of the lease deal is the interest rate, you can negotiate the price, determine how much cap reduction you want to give in order to balance the upfront money and payment to your needs. Whenever you can find 1.4% money on a car you're interested in, it merits a hard look. Get your calculator, paper and pen and do the math ahead of time, based on the formula given by wing819, then go to the dealer and ask for the deal. Their numbers need to agree with yours, remember, you need to have very good credit to get the interest rate, otherwise they will charge a higher rate. Using a money factor of .00069 (1.656% interest), Honda credit will waive the security deposit.
Good luck,
RUW
