ap2 test drive!
Well well, I was pleasantly surprised. A couple things I really noticed, those of you guys looking to buy an s2000 but not sure of which MY to get, heres a pretty unbiased review of the main differences between the two cars..
Differences between ap1 and ap2.
- ap2 is a lot quieter and has a smoother ride. would definitely be a better choice for long rides. its more civil, and isnt as punishing as the ap1's.
- the frenetic nature of the s2k is somewhat diminished with the ap2s. i know the facts, that the newer models are a bit quicker off the line and a bit faster around the track, but the 9k redline and overall feel of the ap1's make it feel like a true racecar. the older models FEEL faster imo..
-overall better quality materials inside, more comfortable seats, I personally prefer the new lines and body style of the ap2's.
- i dont know if its because of the suspension, but the ap2's still handle well, if not as good as the ap1's. its been a while since ive driven the older models, but this car has some GRIP.
- upgrade in torque is noticeable, but not a deciding factor in choosing one over the other.
- the rear end doesnt slide as much, and its a lot easier to drive.
that being said, I would have to go for a used ap2. although purists would want to stick with the older, more raw-like feel of the ap1, it all comes down to personal preference. again, i dont want to bash one or the other, both are fabulous cars.
my personal vote goes to ap2. definitely plan on picking one up in the next couple of months! GPW or Berlina ftw!

Ap1, go with the purist. Ok, all of the s2k's are great no matter which one you get. It is all a matter of preference. Although, Spa is known to be the fastest.
GPW, followed by Sebring.

black is the absence of light, and the only reason why light is absent is because its faster than light.
