arent the bolts replaceable? i wont be driving it so hard, just the occasional vtec-ing. so i dont think it would be such a big issue to me.

To get the glass you do have to replace the top.

Yes the banjo bolts can be upgraded. There are instructions in the Under the Hood forum FAQ.

MY00 with 15k maybe $13,500. Very low miles.

There's a great video on youtube of an AP1 v AP2 comparison. The cars were very balanced in comparison, but the AP2 edged out the AP1. They switched the tires on the cars and ran again, the AP2 once again edged.

When I say edged, it was close...I think it boiled down to driver error(s). You will struggle to find much of a performance difference.

The color and best deal for you...good luck and welcome.

The vid is from Best Motoring. Careful trusting Best Motoring as gospel. They tend to let their best road race driver run the newer car. Funny thing is that the vid mentioned has two F20C equipped cars...in Japan, the F20C was the only engine available until MY06. So the real difference, the driver.

A better indicator is looking at SCCA SOLO II results from Nationals and National Tours for stock class. Many different drivers in very similarly setup cars. Even though the AP1 must run a much smaller tire and is much more challenging to drive well, it delivers quicker times than the AP2 the majority of the time.

BUT...for average American drivers, the AP2 is much easier to control due to the suspension changes.

Nah, that's too much. Maybe $12,000. I paid $15,000 for my 04 with almost the same miles.

AP2 has a number of improvements. I won't list them all because people will complain.

AP1's...
are known to burn some oil.
have less grip due to tire width, but have thicker swaybars.
have better overall suspension (better = stiffer).
get just slightly better gas mileage.
have super ugly carpeted center consoles (early ones).
are missing tweeters and have a weak stock stereo (00-01, I think).
has a weak ECU (00).
don't have a wind deflector stock (00).

IMHO, I prefer the AP2, but a later AP1 isn't that much of a difference, I'd just prefer not to have the carpeted console. I'd skip the '00 model personally, too many deficiencies.

But I'd take an AP1 in nice condition over a beat up AP2 any day, especially body/paint.

im over in westcoast, california btw. car prices over here are higher than those in the east coast from what i see.. also its white.. theres barely any white ones selling in my area. the most i see are silverstones, black, yellow for sale and yes i seen them for cheaper than the white one im lookin at. i really want white is the part that sucks and there isnt much white ones here. also the one im looking at has very little miles compared to the ap2's in my area. most ap2's are leased over here and people probably beat the shit out of them. the guy im buying from is also a older man who has a family. assuming he is mature and sensible and doesnt beat the crap out of the car.

thanks yeah i believe the ap1/ap2 are basically a drivers race. also heard the ap1 is probably a better fixer upper than a ap2 in terms of performance
