I was in the same decision (and so were others recently..try searching).
the 04 and 05 are basically the same car.
new 05s (if you can find one) are going for low $28k. that means you're paying an extra $3k for stuff in an 06 like:
- a car that's one year newer and will have a higher resale value
- a bunch of features that are well documented, like DBW, VSA, different seats, different wheels, ecm, airbag off switch, etc etc
- laguna blue color
i plan to drive my car until it blows up, so i don't really care about resale value. i also resisted laguna blue. i could get by without all the other features. to me, that was worth $3k savings.
if you want a new 05, the problem now is finding one in the right color with the right number of miles.
you can't go wrong either way!

You've got PM.
Nalley Honda in Union City, GA, South of Atlanta. The deal is on the front page of their website, but I can confirm the car -- it was parked inside the dealership when I bought my LBP.

Make sure when you buy - and before you take delivery, that you ask your dealer NOT to wash/wax the car. If you're as picky about your car's cleanliness as I am, you'll pass on the dealer detail department who washes civics, accords, etc. all day for non-picky customers - in fear they'll definetly leave swirl marks on your new S. It's happened many times before...beware!

I paid $31.0 for my '06 in Jnauary when they were first arriving at the dealers around here. Now we are entering top down season, so I do not know what the deal would be today. My area tends to have high prices for Honda's. Atlanta is much more competitive.
BTW, In Decem ber '05, a dealer made me am offer of $28.5 on an '05, so I agree with Xviper -- you better get a whole lot better deal than $28.5 to buy one today.
PS: I love the '06

I'll probably get flamed for going in another direction, But if I were buying today I would buy a low mileage '03 model and keep a big load of cash in my pocket. I will never buy another sports car new again. Flame suit on. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Just be aware that different dealers quote price in different ways. Some quote with freight included, and some do not. So your price might be higher or lower than the next person's. Maybe we should make it a forum rule to post price with or without freight included.
Just my .02
BTW, just got my 06 for 31500 with freight. Can't really haggle the price. "Employee Pricing" for dealership employees: 300 over invoice. But I did get the Super Preferred lease rate: 0.00059 money factor.
