always wanted a S2k since I was 5 years old
Need for Speed underground 1 changed me as a kid. I always chose the s2000 and loved modifying it. Not knowing why, but I always made the right choice by choosing honda.
As I grew up and had many different hondas to experience, I learned more how special the s2k really was.
I currently own a 95 integra LS, 06 TSX and 08 FA5. All of which are highly modded.
I run a small shop out of my garage to serve friends, family and my various projects.
One day I saw quite a deal on facebook marketplace, I just had to get it right away. It felt right.
I will never get rid of this s2000, I've only had it for 5 days and cant drive it enough. It's even managed to make me forget about my track spec civic which I love.
It's a new formula red 2006 ap2 with 153k miles.
highly modified by the previous owner but I trusted his mods and work and made the right choice.
It has my te37 OGs that I had on my civic. The black rpf1s that it came with has bald front tires so those will be a backup for now.
18x10.5 +45 with 225/35 Pilot Sport 4S
Mods:
Forbidden carbon fiber hard top with glass
Seibon carbon fiber mugen style hood
CR front lip
Voltex type 7 GT carbon fiber wing
Js Racing Titanium catback dual exit
Js racing test pipe
Ohlins DFV coilovers
Karcepts Front Sway bar
Evasive diff collars
Recaro RSG seat
Mugen steering wheel
Ballade Sports roll bar
Gutted rear/ soft top
Buddy club roll center adjusters
CMC dampener delete
Hardrace front upper camber arms
Previous owner also powdercoated the entire rear subframe and replaced every bushing in the car with sphericals.
Look forward to continuing modifiying this car and learning about this platform. I already bought hondata which I plan to use and get tuned soon.

I have a flashed ecu in my tsx with an icebox and mugen catback and its great up to a point, rev hang is still there and power increase is noticeable on butt dyno but I dont think acceleration is affected by much.
My civic is on flashpro and FBO and im able to get the most I possibly can out of stock injectors. it is a lot of fun to drive.
Well I was not aware that people flash their ap2s....I got the s2k flashpro for a really good deal on marketplace. I also plan to heavily modify the engine in the future.
I just want to clean up the straight pipe setup right now, its really rich from what i can see.

US-spec 2006 and later 2.2 liter engines ("AP2V2" engines for want of a nomenclature) are Hondata FlashPro tunable.
To reduce VTEC to any significant degree requires a high flow catalytic converter. Cat deletes or "test pipes" (wink, nudge) are irresponsible and stink. Passing local smog tests is always an issue.
As for "heavily modifying" this engine take care. These engines are almost unique, rarely successfully rebuilt, and easy to bugger using "tried and true" techniques from other Honda cars. The only method for major power increase other than lowering VTEC is forced induction. Messing with the engine internals, valve train, etc will lead to trouble. Intake and exhaust modifications don't produce measurable power (like 2 or 3HP) as the system is so well optimized.

Thanks for the heads up, the more I am reading it seems to be the case. I come from K series and realize now that there isn't much to improve upon with these f series.
I would do some intake manifold stuff, fuel, forced induction and maybe cams at most....
everyday I drive it I realize its a pretty quick car and satisfying as is.

I've not read anything encouraging about diddling with the camshafts nor any aftermarket parts in the engine. I put forced induction out of my mind after dropping my VTEC to 3,600 rpm and bumping the fuel cut off to 8,400. Big (to me) change! Would have gained some impressive power but not without risk and the expense of the clutch. A couple of years ago I priced a professional job at $10,000 which has a better place in a college fund.
