About to buy an ap1
So my brother purchased this car maybe 10 years ago. It was a salvage when he got it. I’ve done all the major work on the car since he’s purchased it. Well, some guy driving by his house while texting hit his truck, his truck then decided to take a stroll down the side walk and hit his s2k. I saw the security cam footage and it’s quite funny to me. Ripped off the rear bumper. As far as I know the bumper is all the damage but I suspect a bit of fender work and maybe a tail light. The guys insurance payed him out for the car, so in my opinion, a double salvage. Brother said he would let me pick the car up for 800 or 1000. Depends on his mood during the day when I get it I guess.
So I have a vacation coming up and when I get back I’m going to purchase the car. This also depends on him getting his stereo equipment out that I suspect will take quite a bit longer. My plan with the car is to put it on non op and use it as a strictly track only car. I’ve always wanted to race but have been too scared to wreck my 2 cars. This would be the perfect option, fun, drives great and not a big deal if it gets damaged.
so what are the first reliability mods I should do. I’m planning on doing valve retainers and brakes first. Is there anything else? Or is it a Honda and just go have fun? I have very little track time in very inappropriate vehicles. I’ve been on thunder hill west in a Chevy 1500, Hondas test track in Ohio in a dodge Durango and continental tire test track in Texas in a Jeep Cherokee. So basically no real track time except go carts.

I also have a couple friends that want to do a 24 hours of lemons race. One has done it and the other has been wanting to do it. So considering a 24 hour endurance race I want to make sure the car comes out driving at the end of it.
