OK, first, go wander over to the wash/wax forum... I can't remember what the products are called, but there are a number of vinyl cleaners that are practically magical. You should try them before giving up on your current top.

If that really doesn't work, contact hardtopguy (either through here - s2ki.com or at his website) to get the skinny on the details. I believe some part changes are needed to make a transition to the MY02+ softtop.

If you don't here back from Jeff, we'll move your post over to the S2000 Talk forum where I'm pretty sure this has been discussed in detail before, Tswift.

Best wishes.

As far a plastic polish, Mother's makes a good one. It takes some elbow grease but gets the job done and may really amaze you as to how clear your window can become.
Yes people have converted their 2000/01 top to the 2002+ glass window top. I am no expert on this; I actually prefer my plastic window. Some people will tell you that you need a new frame, however, you CAN still use your existing frame. What you will need for your existing frame to work is some elastic cords to force the frame to fold down differently. There are other differences, but it is possible and has been done many times by dealerships.

[QUOTE=Tswift,Nov 25 2005, 02:34 PM] Has anyone replaced their 00/02 soft top with the new 03-06 soft top with glass?

I think that a plastic window on a $35,000.00 car is an insult, even khias come with a rear glass window. I hate the stupid plastic.

It seems those who don't know how to take care of it, or don't want to spend the time to take care of it, are the ones most offended by it. What does that tell you?

When I first got my car (slightly used) the back glastic was in pretty sad shape. I used the Meguiars cleaner and after three applications and a lot of rubbing it looked brand new. It was virtually clear and had the elasticity restored. It's really not that hard to do except for getting leverage on the inside.

Now I use the cleaner every 3 months or so and it's not a problem. One tip I would suggest is to make sure it's as clean as possible before you start.
