I've only had my S for a little while and am already kindof tired of the plastic rear window...what is required to get a glass rear window in terms of parts/labor/etc.

I happen to not mind my plastic window. You either have a bigger plastic window that somewhat distorts what you see in the rearview or you have a much smaller glass window that limits what you see in the rearview.
I only need to discern movement and the fact that something is back there. I don't need to see a clear outline or even what color the thing is. As for the plastic window getting yellow and brittle and cracking, in the 5 years I've had it, I take care of it and it's like new. I also don't care that the plastic window doesn't have a defroster. In winter, I've got a hardtop that takes care of that.
I've never had a desire to convert to a glass rear window. Never will. IMO, a glass rear window is not "all that".

I'm kinda in the same boat. I like the extra visibility of the plastic window

I don't like the plastic, but I don't hate it either. When the window edges crack off the top, will I get the glass retrofit. The only real gripe I have with the plastic is that it's hard to see if a police car is behind you. I am PARANOID of police cars.

I love my plastic window because:

1) Its replaceable if damaged because it has a zipper, but if the glass breaks you have to replace the whole soft-top.
2) Its bigger for bigger view.
3) Doesnt wrinkle if you take care of it!
4) Gives more value in my eyes to the hardtop that has more visible rear view!

If you would like to pay to convert mine to a glass rear window, I'd be happy to do it. What day should I make the make the appointment at the dealer?

I think I would stab myself in the face if I had a plastic window when winter came and I had to take the ice/snow off of it

Not to mention it getting hazy and wrinkled
