Why should you get out of a carpool violation? The rules are pretty cut-n-dry aren't they? Did you not know you were in a carpool lane? Forgot you were alone????

Do the crime, pay the fine.

Why should I get out of the violation?....stupidity. I was in the fast lane from Valley (in Riverside) to Market (91 interchange)...usually a couple minute drive that took an hour and a half. The double yellow line ended and I knew it didn't start up again, so thought the carpool lane had ended. There was a motorcycle cop behind me, but thinking I'd now passed the carpool lane, I pulled in...followed by the motorcycle prick who immediately pulled me over. I may not be the brightest duck on the pond, but I think under the circumstances, that had I known it was still the carpool lane, I'd not have pulled in.

The kicker is, during my hour and a half stint in rush hour traffic, while Mr CHP was spanking his Johnson, I kept watching cars with only the driver, cruising down the carpool lane, wondering where the cop was. I refrained from doing that and waited until I thought it was legal to do....

Fair enough. I got jacked a similar way when visiting NY some years ago. I had to pay.............pissed off.

Thanks and good luck with the declaration.

About a month and a half later I got a letter stating I'd been found NOT GUILTY (cop never responded) and to expect a check for $371 within a week.

It's an extremely simple process...Good Luck!
