Holly Sh8 .

twelve hundred dollar for a speeding ticket is high. I think I should try my luck with Sherman. What do you guys think. Here's what I'm thinking. The two basic ways lawyers help you get away from a radar ticket is 1. If the cop didn't have his radar calibrated and tested. 2. If they didn't have a report on file to be able to use the radar in that area in the first place. The officer seemed real confident when he wrote me up, so I'm thinking he'd have his sh8 together. I don't want to spend two grand on a lawyer and end up having to pay for everything and end up with the ticket.

I was caught 82mph in a 55mph zone on Van Buren. Right before you get on the 215.

holy sh!t is right i would definately try to fight it one way or another. If you go to court maybe the could reduce it or if the officer doesn't show up it'll get dismissed. But that fine is ridiculous

I know that they have changed the system a lot lately. I'm not sure if a no show by the cop means automatic dismissal.

Never heard of a speeding ticket that high, except over 100mph. But that's a whole different ballgame. Did you have any violations other than speeding?

He also wrote me up for not having proof of insurance. I told him it's probably in the trunk, but he didn't give me a chance to get it. He just said explain it to the judge. So how much of the fine is due to not having proof of insurance? I assume that will be dropped when I show that I had active insurance at the time.

____________

Oh and do you guys know of any good traffic lawyers that don't charge two grand?

yea you forgot to mention that.. just when you go to court and show them you have/had insurace at the time this occurred it will be dropped down to a normal speeding ticket price......

Always keep your registration and insurance in an easy place and ready to show.. i always keep it in the glove box....

I dont think u need a lawyer.. just show up to court, show insurance, pay the fine, and move on...
