Default Visiting Hawaii

Greetings from Florida fellow S2000 enthusiasts. My wife and I will be visiting the Big Island in May. I'd like to rent a fun car for a day or two: S2K, Boxster, Z4, Viper...you get the idea! Is there any rental agency on the island that can help me out? Thanks guys!

Hopefully Spanky will chime in here. He's the only member in the Hawaii Forums that isn't from Oahu (and he is on the Big Island).

Hey there FLS2K! Glad that you'll be visiting the island. Unfortunately there's no rental agencies for upscale or exotic cars here. But there are some great beaches and sight-seeing here. And most importantly some very nice roads to drive on. Give me a ring when you arrive and I'll be more than happy to take you around and go for a drive. However, I'll be on Oahu from the 16th-20th.

Come to think about it, if you're open to renting nice cars, I know of a business that rents out Porsche 356A Speedster Kit Cars. Even though it is in fact a Kit-Car, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between these and an authentic one. Very well built and detailed. I think this would be a great Island car to take for a day around the island and enjoy the wonderful views.

Like I mentioned earlier, feel free to give me a call with any questions and hopefully we can meet up and get the other s2000 owners together and go for a spin.

BTW, which hotel or condo are you folks planning to stay at? If you haven't decided yet and need recommendations, PM me and I'll fill you in on what's nice and what's not.

Until then, Aloha and Happy Driving!

Thanks for the info! We'll look you up if we get the chance.

We'll be staying at the Hapuna Beach Resort. My wife and her entire market team won the trip for being #1 in '02 for her company so the resort wasn't our decision, but it looks like a good one!

Thanks again!

Hapuna is a great place to stay at! Sounds like you folks will be having a great time here. Definitely look me up. By any chance, do you golf?
