vibration/rattle sound?
hi everyone, i do not own a s2000 yet but i test drove the silver one at JN. i noticed when downshifting and slowing down there is a harsh vibration in the clutch pedal and a rattling sound. it sounds like a metal to metal vibration. if you guys have any idea what it could be please let me know. thanks in advance!

It's a very common "problem" for 2000-2002 cars. The springs in the clutch pressure plate are "ringing/rattling" There is a TSB for this, but most of these cars are out of warranty now. Sadly you'll just have to live with it. There is no performance penalty, it's just irritating. FWIW, there is a revised pressure plate that lessens the problem. Try a search on TSB-054 or TSB-055

Or you can just get the car and then complain about it after buying it like I do.

I had that same noise in my car and they said that it was a broken engine mount. So that could be part of the noise problem. After they fixed the mount the noise was still there. And I asked to get a goodwill fix but that didn't happen. O well It doesn't hurt anything but my ears so I guess thats okay.
