Hmmmm I was stuck in exactly the same traffic, when I reached the accident with the cars in the left lane of the moanalua onramp, there was a cop in the middle lane. This forced all of us to move into the Halawa merge lane. It took me 20+ minutes from the top of Red Hill.
The cop talking to you probably heard me.
Bwaaaa haaaa, as soon as I was around the cop's Mustang, I was at 9K through three gears!

It's a good thing I was driving my "stealth yellow" car. After all I wouldn't want to attract too much attention. 
Serously, I think you conducted yourself pretty good, I seem to recall some other times it didn't go so well.
