yeah it is. the "s2000 clicking noise" video that's like 25 sec long is identical to mine. so... yeah, i think you're right from the beginning.
also, from reading the forum, like you said, is a common problem especially ap1's, and it doesn't discriminate whether it has high mileage or not.
the good news is it's a diy $100-$150 fix. bad news is that i've read people changing them out every couple months.

i think the sound is from the tct. if it only does it for a while and then go away. it cannot
be valve adjustment. valves if noisey will make more noise when cold and less when
hot. but ticking noise will be constant. i have never heard of an intermittent ticking
noise from valve adjustment. impossible for loose valves to sometimes stop making
noise. you can always check the valve adjustment anyway just for a peice of mind.
real easy to just check. the adjustment part that is sometimes a pain. hope you fix the
noise.
