Default Safety check/recon

Does anyone know where I can get a little more lenient safety check/recon. I just bought my s2000 and plates are in storage, reg paid off and current, but I need a safety check to retrieve the plates. If im going to have to tow the car, I need to find a place that will almost definitely pass it. Only noticeable thing is slightly lowered on tein drop springs and the exhaust. Everywhere I've tried to go has told me to go get recon first.
Willing to pay extra, just need to pass so I can get my damn plates.
Any help would be appreciated.

would help if we knew what area youre located in...most shops have cracked down on safety inspections the past year...just put your stock suspension back on and go anywhere...if thats the ONLY mod you have done then it shouldnt be a problem

I'm in the Waipahu area, and yeah I've seemed to have noticed that. I dont have the stock suspension, but if I put coilovers and made it stock height do you think it'd work out?

try it out. usually they won't pass you with coilovers. you can always paint the tein drop springs black and try that. gl!

Damn, I guess that could be an option aye. I don't want to have to get recon. Just need it to pass as stock when I go to say- shells, or chevron. I'll tell them the car is naturally low. lol.

Did you raise the car when you had your coilovers on?
