Default re: rim help

this might have been covered in countless forum threads before but i have had a tough time figuring out the offset problem with the s2000. i am currently in the search for new rims and after seeing a few posts in here i really fell in love with the concave look. does anyone in here have any experience with these? i was looking to possibly pick up some volk te-37s and was wondering at what offset and size do the face start to concave? besides rims, tires, and fender work what else will be needed to get these to work. i read through a lot of forums and people just seem to not want to share their specs.

what size and offset rims for a te-37?
what fender work?
camber?
etc?

people in the hawaii forums are so very quick and informative so thanks in advance

17x9J+22 = concave or gt-r face.
everything below depends on what you do with your fenders.
you can roll/pull/cut/weld your stocks to make it work or you can run aftermarket +25mm but the rears need mod'n too. im going asm
camber depends on your fenders. also depends if you want even wear or you just make it work. alex tells me "its your friend"
you can run stretch tire (which i dislike) or 245/255 all around. i plan to run 255/275
good luck!

Yep! Volks concave at +22 offset and 9" width..for 17" rims

Are you going concave all around? That's tough, even with a +25 asm front fender, there is rubbage (if you are running a 245 tire)

The stock s2000 fender isn't very forgiving lol, I just pwned my passenger fender the other day getting into a driveway. And I'm running a +45 17x8.5 225 setup..

If you want it to work, rock a less agressive front rim (17x9 +40), and a 17x9 +22 rear + asm over fender.

Felipe's spot on with his future setup, can't wait to see the agressiveness =)

Good luck! Jdm jays ce28 setup is for sale, decent price at 2200! Concave rears..

wifey said "sorry alex" last nite when i told her about your mishap.

btw you can run the following front fenders for more clearance:
+35 arrows
+40 j's front fenders

Haha tell her thanks. Ugh, I'm over it I guess. I just gotta avoid looking at it lol.

The j's fenders are super wide, makes me think what kind of rims you can stuff under their new widebody! O.o

Another option is the cwest front fender, it looks stock, but gives a nice clearance for wider wheels

i think you guys pretty well covered it....i got TE's on mine now, no concave though....i have a 17x9 +40 on the back and clears with minor rolling and a 225/40. if you went with stock body on a 17x9 +22 i would run same tire size and just mod the fenders...i am also running about a -5 for rear camber to clear the 40 so imagine what +22 would require

The te37s on yer car look sick Lee. I would love to go 17x9 +22 all the way around, but if I were to do a more conservative approach I'd rock your rears up front and 17x9 +22 rear. But that's just if I wanna continue my s2k build haha...

Orrrr rock fenders and run 17x9 +22 all the way around haha.

i think j's front and asm rears or arrows all around will DO IT

sounds like a lot of work to be down. guess the rims are going to the back burner and gotta work body first. just want to get it done the right way the first time. i know running this offset is gonna be a bi**h so dont want to mess around not knowing what to do. i want to keep the car looking as stock as possible so might just concave the back. dont mind the overfender look though. guess gotta start thinking what bumpers and body to go with now (>_<)

9 + 22 front and rear on stock body is doable but you need to go rugged max camber front and rear and max stretch haha 225 is pretty rugged on a 9 I wasn't even running 225 when I had the le37 and they were 9 + 40 just go monkey works and tell sean you need to clear 9 + 22 and as long as your front fenders aren't kinked he can pull the front enough for it to clear it just won't ever be able to tuck tire... it'll end up looking like the arrow front fender flare haha and the rears would be easy
