powder coating is some strong stuff dude.. they electrically charge the powder ions and the metal they are spraying it onto so that they form a ultra tight bond.. straight science tip.

We have a powder coater at work, I would have to say the finish if far stonger than paint including epoxy enamels. Like others have said, powder coating can take a beating...

just be careful, the powder coating weakens the rims slightly

good wheels are forged under tremendous pressure and heat, and even cast wheels are molten at conception. 400 degrees shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry, that's just silly...you base your conclusion on a single incident? I've seen forged wheels crack as well as cheap-ass Rota's and OEM wheels.
perhaps it was bad luck. perhaps it was the coating. whatever the case may be, it was an example...i was stating that to just think about it, not an end all type of comment
