Oil EVERYWHERE What the hell?
What's up guys. I met some of you all at a cruise-in over at Kahala Mall about three weeks ago.. I was the black guy that had bought Eric Lau's car.. anyway I was telling you guys how I checked the oil after I bought it from him, and the damn thing had 1 QUART in it. So I filled it up. drove it and two weeks ago I changed the oil and filter.. Everything was good until two days ago, I smelled burning oil so I pull aside to check and I swear it was like someone had sliced the car's jugular. Oil inside the wheel wells, the underside has a nice coat as well. I used a socket wrench to check if the drain bolt was tight.. yes. I also checked the filter by trying to remove it by hand(It wouldn't budge.) The leak is concentrated on the side where the filter is. No leak from the head gasket or any upper extremities of the engine.. Could I have a bad fitting filter/bad filter.. There is no noticeable leak around the filter, but there is oil everywhere so it's hard to tell.. Other than this. the car runs great!

like itwasmentioned b4,i would check the filter first for an "extra" gasket, sometimes the old one is still stuck to the block.
the only oil related things around there are the filter, VTEC solenoid, valvecover. i can't think of anything else around there that could be the culprit.

Wow that's a bad leak. I agree with everyone here, that kind of leak is usually due to having 2 O-rings between the oil filter and the housing.
Seeing that FRAM extra guard oil filter makes me want to cry. The only FRAM product I've personally tested to even come close to the OEM Genuine Honda oil filter is the FRAM x2 (extended guard), that's saying a lot considering there hasn't been any oil filter (aftermarket or otherwise) that I've tested to even compare with the genuine OEM replacement.
