Im interested but what about people that don't own helmets? I bought a helmet for the track but sold it awhile ago. I'd rather not spend another 300-400 if im just going to use it a few times.
they have loaner helmets at the Events. No cost involved, they just hold onto your DL while you run and they give it back when you give the helmet back. They have the speed racer style helmets so you don't have to have your head surrounded by loaner helmet the whole time. no need to buy your own helmet.

i think the fun runs also allow a passenger?
yes, the fun runs (5 runs for 5 dollars extra) allow a passenger. they must have closed toe shoes on though or they won't be allowed out on the track. Same for you guys. closed toe shoes only. Passengers also can just use the loaner helmets.

where was this thread back when i was thinking about doing AutoX?

it was relatively easy to get started, everyone is really helpful. not to mention how much fun it is! i'm looking forward to the Test & Tune event in february. next time i'll remember to bring more water, food and sunscreen. i think we were there for a good 10 hours.

[QUOTE=nothing_inside]It looks like theres two people in the car. I didn't know you could have someone ride with you. By the way, good job elayne. Got more balls than a lot of the guys here haha. Including me.

[QUOTE=istdercollen,Oct 14 2008, 03:32 PM]check the schedule, but I believe the Test and Tune is on Jan 25th.. it's also open to only 40 or so drivers.. first come first serve.

you're right, January 25th!

btw, if you're under 24, the SCCA membership is $45. you get another $15 off if you list a referral, so it comes out to $30 for the whole year.
there's some good info that I didn't know as I am almost dead at 26.
