Fellas since I wasn't able to meet up with you guys last May, I'll be coming out again september sometime with my parents. Just wondering if you guys can recommend some hotels ....maybe in the waikiki area to stay at. I've stayed at the Prince before, which wasn't bad for the price. I'm just not too familiar since i usually stay with family. This time, I'll be coming with too many people tho.
Also, maybe I should just book a hotel and air with a travel agent to get a package deal??
Thanks.

I know Aloha Airlines has cheap fares from Hawaii, might want to look at their prices. The Prince is a nice hotel, a little pricey. After you stay there, it's hard to compare other hotels. Stephen can probably recommend better places for the price.

I don't personally know people in the hotel industry. I thought Colin's wife worked for the insurance company that services them though. Is that right, Colin? Maybe Fran knows something.
I know the Ohana hotels (formerly Outrigger) have more reasonable prices, but I don't know which luxury hotels have favorable rates. Halekulani and Kahala Mandarin are the nicest, but of course the priciest. Sheraton needs another renovation, Moana Surfrider has got some nice rooms, and some rooms that need renovation as well. Royal Hawaiian is not so great. Hyatt is nice, but probably $$.
Do you prefer ocean front?

In that case, I don't know what to recommend. The price certainly goes down for non beach front hotels though. I'm surprised Turbo-pwr (Dan) hasn't posted on this thread yet....
