This looks like a great mod for Hawaii owners. Great link Bruce.
It's a much easier/cheaper way of bringing down the intake air temps without the hassle of installing the Hondata intake manifold gasket (which performs the same job).
Like the link says, it's probably a 10 minute DIY job and a couple of dollars spent for ball bearings from Home Depot.
Hondata gasket is approx. $75 for gasket, and $250-$400 for install (3 hours or so with experienced mechanic).
Hondata option is better, since you are placing insulation between the head and intake manifold, but for the price and convenience, this simple solution looks great.
Who's going to be the local guinea pig?

I could only find them at ace hardware 23 cents a piece and it only took 6.8 min to put them in (yes i did use a stop watch) I even took a phone call during the install (speaker phone). Not sure how much Hp was gained but I can feel more punch at the low end when I floor it.
The thermal manifold gasket would yield better results due to the reduction of thermal heat transfer. But this is defiantly worth it. Even if you only gain 2 HP/2 TQ then ratio of HP/TQ gained vs. price is worth it.
I hope someone dynos the before and after results I would like to know the actual gains.
