Default Local Kine Grindz!

Ever find yourself thinking "where's a good place to eat today?" even though there are literally hundreds of good choices here?

Don't get stuck in a situation where you want something good to eat, but can't think of where and then just end up at Zippy's or worse... a fast food drive-thru.

Post your recommendations and PLEASE ADD A PIC where possible!

I'm going to start:

This place is a MUST try. So damn good and inexpensive that I go there at least once every week.
Nicos at Pier 38. It is out of the way, and manages to be really busy through word of mouth for it's fresh fish and other tasty local favorites like loco moco and chicken katsu.

I deviate on the menu once in a while to try something different, but always end up disappointed because nothing beats their Furikake Pan Seared Ahi. High end restaurant style preparation with a plate lunch price.

This was the special on one day, and iirc it was the mahimahi with garlic aioli sauce.

They usually have some kind of homemade cookies at the counter and this peanut butter cookie was really good.

They have a website so you can view their daily specials
www.nicospier38.com

I'll post a pic of the furikake ahi when I find it.

If you're in Kapolei and looking for some good eats... http://www.enfuegohawaii.com/

En Fuego hands down. I usually get the combo plate with fresh garlic seared Ahi and Teri salmon with white rice and mac salad, and a mini sashimi on the side. It'll run just over $10 with the Sashimi. I work over on that side so I eat there at least once a week.

Damn, it's 7am and I'm getting hungry already thinking about it.

For those interested in Nico's, here's their site: http://www.nicospier38.com/

I think I might try them today

We saw that place, and thought that if we came all the way over there, we might as well just eat at Nico's. Good to know that it was decent though, in case there is a mood for a different taste or if it's super windy since Nico's is all outdoor seating.
