any of you guys ever been there?
im thinking about a trip there sometime next year...not sure when exactly
i dont want it to be freezing cold....i'd like to catch the end of the ski season when its not so cold...
best time? is it better to fly to san fran and drive there? or just fly to lake tahoe directly?

i think february-march is a good time to go. fly into san francisco and drive up there. take a red eye and spend a day in the city. it's a nice drive if it doesn't snow. takes about 3 1/2 hours. if it snows it could take up to 6.
are you going with a bunch of people or just yourself. if you're going with lots of people it's a good idea to rent a cabin. there's a lot right below heavenly that are really nice, they have full kitchens and most of them come with hot tubs.

family trip
i was thinking march too
since snow would start to melt ?
fly into san francisco? spend a night in the city?
drive to lake tahoe? spend 1 or 2 nights there? prices are..?
drive back to san francisco? and end it there?
i was thinking something like that....but if we all like it there we might add couple more days here and there...
what else is there to do at lake tahoe, besides ski?

i'm sure there's still going to be snow. it's cold in march.
definately fly into san francisco. a couple of years around that time i got a room for about 120 a night right near union square. just depends whether you want to be closer to the wharf or closer to shopping and museums.
i'm not sure how much the cabin prices are as my friend owns one but rents it out. if he's in town i can ask him if it's available during the time you're thinking of.
i really can't say what else to do as the whole time was spent skiing. believe me if you're skiing the whole day you'll be so beat by night fall. there's always gambling!
