I've done a bad thing
So the other day I had a bad thing happen. I was driving to work, we were slated to film on police beach that day. I drove to crew parking and the dipshit security guard told me I had to go to a far parking lot, I told him if I were in my truck or on my bike, no probs, but not in my S. He insisted so I started to head that way. The road got ugly and skinny. I ended up driving over a tree root at a crawl and the car slipped off of it and the tree root pushed the front jack point on the drivers side into the body. Also kinda creased and generally ****ered the "rough paint" section forward of the door jamb (rocker panel?) It's real ugly.
I ended up turning around and parking, then I told the security guard he could go **** himself. I guess in some ways that made me feel a little better.
I haven't got any pics yet, but I'm gonna try to make it by a body shop first thing in the morning. To give you and idea of the area I'm talking about, here's a pic from elsewhere on the board. Basically the center of the damage is right where the pinch metal is and where jack would go.
I was wondering if any of you think it's worth it to go to a frame guy since this is a "structural" part of the car in the sense that it is the jack point, or would a regular body shop be good enough? By regular I do mean reputable, not just any old shop.
Your thoughts?
