i have a 2000 s2k also had the same problem exact same problem every single post on the internet says stuff like iac valve map whack blahblahblah i took it down to sonic motor sports and apparently ap1 is infamous for needing valve adjust. after the valve adjust car runs absolutely fine no problems what so ever im not saying gauranteed this may help you but it helped me and i hope this may help you also.

valve adjustments on some cars are a big help. it cleaned up betty's a bunch and it cleaned out ben's completely

If you haven't fussed with the smaller things like the MAP first, you could be wasting money on the valve adjustment. IMO, I'd do the free (or at least very cheap) things first....

lol i actually ended up doing the map wack, iac cleaning, and one more i forgot what it was called (well free not including cost of cleaning sprays and zipties) and none of it worked valve adjust was only pretty cheap but my cel would turn on and turn back off after i would shut off the car so i couldnt look up a code. i think my problems might have been worst.

seemed to have fixed the idle problem when the ac is on.

i noticed something when i was cleaning the engine bay today. i dont have any pics, but can anybody tell me what that metal rod with the rubber surround in the middle is that is located below/besides the lower radiator hose? mines looked kinda awkward b/c it looks like it has somewhat separated in the middle where the rubber covers it.
