In one post you lose to an RSX, and in another you pull a G35 by 15 car lengths.

In one post you're stock, and in another you seem to have some underhood goodies?

I agree with Colin there.

Anyhow the dynamics of how the race goes in a freeway battle is simple. In a straight line, the car benefits from being light during initial acceleration from less motion (less mass to move means less effort to get the car moving), however once you're at higher speeds (80+ mph for example), sheer horsepower and torque are needed, both of which the G35 has.

A lighter car rules for shorter lengths of straightaways and have a clear upper hand in braking and entering corners, the weaknesses of a lighter car in a long straightaway is when they have to face another car that may be heavier and bigger, but packing more hp than you are, backed with a sufficient amount of torque.

Just as a comparison, a 1989 Toyota Cressida (7M-GE motor) with an automatic transmission will lose to an '93 Integra with LS-VTEC motor swap with 5spd during the initial 90mph run, but after it reaches beyond 100mph, the Cressida will pull away at higher speeds due to the higher hp (and tq) figures. Lightness plays less of a factor than power at this stage in the race.

My guess is with what Steve has said. He's holding back, has a better sence than to do stupid things, or not confident... or whatever.
